Comparison

Exotel, compared for Indian businesses.

Exotel is one of India's largest cloud communication platforms, and for enterprise contact centres it is often the incumbent. Oye Hello is an AI agent a single business can put on its phone line this week. The honest comparison is about which problem you actually have.

All comparisons

Who Exotel is built for

Exotel is enterprise CPaaS: reliable connectivity, omnichannel contact centre software, conversation intelligence and, increasingly, its own AI voice and chat agents, sold to banks, logistics firms and large consumer businesses through a sales process. It is a serious Indian company with carrier-grade infrastructure, and if you are building a contact centre for hundreds of human agents, it belongs on your shortlist.

When Exotel is the better choice

  • You are an enterprise building or replacing a full contact centre: hundreds of seats, omnichannel routing, quality management and a vendor relationship to match.
  • You need carrier-grade connectivity APIs at scale as the foundation for your own systems.
  • You want one enterprise vendor for voice, WhatsApp and campaign infrastructure with a dedicated account team.

When Oye Hello is the better choice

  • You are a business, not a contact centre: you want the phone answered, not a platform programme.
  • You want published rupee pricing and a start today, rather than a demo request and an enterprise sales cycle.
  • You want the agent to learn your business from your own documents and be editable by a non-engineer in a console.

Questions people ask

Is Oye Hello an Exotel alternative?

For an enterprise contact centre, no, and it does not pretend to be. Exotel sells infrastructure and software for organisations with large human teams and complex routing. Oye Hello is the other shape of the same problem: a business whose calls are being missed, answered by an AI agent that sets up in a day. Some Exotel customers will still use Oye Hello for the front line their contact centre does not cover, like after-hours and overflow.

What does Exotel cost?

They do not publish a rate card; pricing comes out of a sales conversation, which is normal for enterprise CPaaS. If you need a number before you commit to that process, Oye Hello's is public: Rs 4.5 per minute on Sarvam voices, Rs 2.5 on in-house, before GST, with free browser demos first.

Do both handle Indian telephony compliance?

Yes, and it would be wrong to claim otherwise: Exotel is one of the most established compliant operators in Indian cloud telephony. Oye Hello provisions numbers through licensed Indian carrier partners with full KYC and supports standard SIP trunking. On compliance you should expect competence from both; the difference is the product on top of the line.

Hear it before you decide

The fastest way to judge any of these platforms is to talk to one. Oye Hello has nine live agents you can call from your browser with no account and no form, each answering for a different kind of business. Talk to one now, or read how the AI receptionist works.
